Inspirational Artist: Artem Solop

There are many artists and designers that I find inspiring, Corpse tits and her eye candy lewd pieces, Simon Stålenhag with his scenic artwork combining Swedish countryside with futuristic elements and much more. But there is one artist that I find absolutely inspirational and aspire to be like one day, Artem Solop. 


Artem Solop creates both digital and traditional futuristic graffiti-esque illustrations that simply stand out amongst the rest, his designs have a sketchy yet neat and contained appeal to them that I adore. I always look at his work that has been hand drawn using ball points and fine liners in amazement hoping of one day being able to create sketchbooks filled with pages the way he does his. The switch up of colours with his drawings I personally find adds to the sketchbook feel. The additional use of cutesy simple drawings, shapes and text alongside his more detailed pieces really adds to the designs. 


Additionally some of his illustrations are done on different types of paper including paper that is already printed which is a style I have always wanted to experiment with for a long time. Also his use of postage stickers slapped onto some of his designs is a pretty neat design choice even if considered strange and unnecessary, it works in my books. 

I first found his work in the summer of 2017 as I was browsing Instagram for more artists and designers to follow and as I was flicking through my search feed I came across one of his recent pieces at the time, ever since I have examined his work in awe and even been inspired for some of my own pieces.

The Nythim art Style. Process and Production: Exploring Geometry with Sara Nesteruk.

Exploring Geometry With Sara Nesteruk For the first Process and Production workshop of the second year. I joined Sara Nesteruk's group with motion graphics due to my initial tutor nick being absent. The group revisited Adobe After Effects to help familiarise the class with the application since the previous year. A long summer without using After Effects personally has made me a little rusty with the software.  The task for this weeks workshop is to create a small 10 second video consisting of 7 different animated assets each lasting 1 second and a 3 second end board to finish off the video.  Sara Showed us a video by Steffen K called '30 motion tests in 30 seconds' where Steffen created a 1 second animation every day for a month, using Adobe After Effects and Cinema 4D as a way to experiment with different animations and styles.
